H is for... HATE!

I am not a fan of people that live daily hating others they don't know based on stereotypes. I find myself redirecting people that think because they feel that way about a particular group or behavior, that I feel the same way. I redirect and stop listening as soon as they bring it all about.

My parents raised me to love 'in spite of' and that's what I try to do daily. I am not perfect but I don't hate people. I always say, "That person is a jerk because they are a jerk." Not because they are gay, straight, black, white, etc. Hate takes so much more energy than love and empathy. You don't have to like everyone but hating them hurts you more than them...

I don't like being judged by people who have the same color skin as I do. I have siblings and am not identical to each one of them. So, how can I be the same as everyone else in my race? It's nonsensical. I judge people on how they treat me not based on religion, economic situation, ethnicity, or race.

  1. I think hate is at the root of everything that goes wrong in our planet. If we spent more time trying to understand one another, there would be a lot less pain all around us.

    Nice post.

  2. Thank you for visiting my blog site for my Forensics post.

I agree with you that hate takes so much more energy than love and the person feeling such a strong emotion as hate is the one who gets hurt the most. This is especially true when people decide to turn hatred toward those they don't even know ... announcers, athletes, movie stars, politicians (okay, maybe there is some justification for the last one :))

  3. The only thing I hate is Lima beans and you will never change my mind! lol

Hate is fear and a lack of love.

  4. @Jeremy... I am with you and your hate for lima beans. I need to add fish to the list. LOL!
@Gail... I hate politics and don't watch TV news until the elections are over.
@Gina... I think so too. I bring up the discussions so people can understand we are more alike than they think.

    Thanks for stopping by!!

  5. Great post, agree with everything you said. I once had a group of friends who would literally hate anyone and consider them to be unworthy of their friendship, just because they had different taste in music. Absolutely ridiculous. I am of course no longer friends with them! :)

  8. Stopping by from the Challenge.
This was an excellent post that everyone ought to read. There's too much hate in our country today...from both sides of the political spectrum.

  9. I think you and I are on the same page...I was raised to see people for who they are inside and to love them despite that. I suspect you'd like my posts too

  11. Hate is a word I wish we would erase from our vocabulary when referring to people. The more races I interact with, the more I realize that humans are pretty much all the same underneath. Some you like some you don't, but none should we hate.

  12. Hate is such an ugly word. It leads to nothing but destruction, and in the end I think you truly end up only hurting yourself if you have hate inside you. I really wish there was more kindness in the world. We aren't going to get along with everyone, it's just a fact of life, but we can certainly embrace differences, and be kind to one another.
